The mandibular lateral incisor presents with an asymmetrical characteristic. The distal surface of this tooth usually is not as straight as the mesial one, and the distoincisal angle is more rounded than the mesioincisal angle. Also, the cervical part of the distofacial line angle is more rounded than the mesiofacial line angle. The mandibular lateral incisor presents a distal part of the marginal ridge slightly “twisted” towards the lingual surface in an incisal view.
