Angle's classification
Several classifications of static malocclusion and misalignment have been used Worldwide. The most widely known and used occlusal classification system as a part of treatment goals and establishing the initial diagnosis is Angle's classification, invented in 1899 by Edward Angle - father of modern orthodontics. He was the first person who classified malocclusion so that everyone could speak the same language. This classification has been an essential communication tool between dentists.
